The sum of $100 has been contributed to the American Palestine Campaign by Mayor John P. O’Brien to facilitate Jewish immigration and colonization in Palestine, according to an announcement by Nathan Straus, Jr., Chairman of the American Palestine Campaign of Greater New York.
A contribution of $1,000 has also been made by George MacDonald, Papal Marquis, who expressed his sympathy with the rebuilding of the Jewish National Home in Palestine, to which homeless Jews from various lands may come for security and freedom. Other contributions by Christians include $500 from George Hill, president of the American Tobacco Company; $250 from John F. Curry and $250 from James J. Hines.
