A memorial tablet on the Theodor Herzl House here was unveiled yesterday by Mayor Franz Jonas as one of the events in the observance of the centennial of the birth of the founder of modern political Zionism. The communal house will be the site of offices of Zionist groups and institutions of the Viennese Jewish community.
Dr. Nahum Goldmann commemorated Herzl’s role as a contributor to the cultural life of Austria. The Mayor praised Herzl as the founder of Zionism who predicted the emergence of a Jewish State. He said Vienna was proud of “one of its best sons.”
