The New York State Mayors Conference is planning to hold its annual meeting at the Lake Placid Club, Lake Placid, N.Y., despite charges by municipal officials that the club discriminates against Jewish guests.
Mayor Samuel Stratton of Schenectady has taken the lead in demanding that the site of the meeting be changed. At least two city officials of Long Beach have indicated that they will not attend the session if it is held at the club. The conference is scheduled for June 1-4.
