James G. McDonald, League of Nations High Commissioner for German refugees, who returned to the United States last week from a tour of South America, will be guest of honor and will deliver the principal address of the opening session Sunday of the thirtieth annual convention of the Order of Brith Sholom at Convention Hall, Atlantic City, it was announced here today.
Upwards of 1,000 delegates and friends will attend this annual function, scheduled to continue through Tuesday. Convention headquarters will be at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, where all sessions except the opening session will be held.
In addition to the presence and the address of Commissioner McDonald, a feature of the opening session will be the presidential message by Judge William M. Lewis, grand master of the Order.
Though the convention will not be opened officially until Sunday afternoon, the annual oratorical contest sponsored by the Brith Sholom, will take place Sunday morning at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. On Sunday evening, a musical revue, concert and dance will be given at Convention Hall in honor of the delegates and their invited guests. Monday morning will be gien over to a meeting of the various committees.
The second session of the convention will be held Monday afternoon. In the evening a reception will be given by Judge Lewis to the delegates.
Tuesday morning will be given over to the election of officers and Tuesday afternoon to the installation of the newly elected officers, and to discussion of various matters pertaining to the welfare of the Order.
