The Israeli Government’s Tourist Department is taking vigorous measures to improve conditions for the tourist trade and provide satisfactory accommodations for visitors to Israel, the Government reported to parliament last night. The Department, a government spokesman said, is working closely with the Hotel Association in connection with the enlargement of existing hotels and the speedy construction of new hotels in all cities of the country. The department is also, taking steps to facilitate the construction of other living quarters for tourists. The government is also seeking to improve bus and other transportation facilities for tourists and is establishing new tourist offices in Paris and New York, it was revealed.
