A 30,000,000 rouble agreement on a two year credit basis with the Soviet government for the Imperial Chemical Trust has been signed in London by Lord Melchett, chairman of the board of directors of the Imperial Chemical Trust. Announcement of this huge contract with Russia was made by Sol Bron, former head of the Amtorg, commercial representative of Soviet Russia in the United States and recently named Soviet trade representative in Great Britain, who arrived here today.
Lord Melchett (Sir Alfred Mond) is one of the outstnding Jews of Great Britain and is among the leading English industrialists. He is president of the English Zionist Federation and at the recent meeting of the Jewish Agency was elected chairman of the Council.
