Israel has made an “amazing recovery” as a “community emerging suddenly into a stable state with firm law, social justice and social order,” Supreme Court Justice Ivan C. Rand declared here.
Justice Rand, a member of Canada’s highest judicial tribunal, was the principal speaker here at a dinner launching the Israel Bond drive in the Maritime Provinces. He has visited Israel and has traveled through every part of that country. Pointing out that the Jewish State almost tripled its population in a short period, Justice Rand declared:
“Israel’s development represents a tremendous comeback. Under normal circumstances, the prospects of developing a firm state and a firm economy in that country seemed uninviting. But the imagination of the people of that country, their spiritual exultation, the way they are bursting with energy, is creating a rich community life for people who give of themselves in order to build and rebuild their homeland.”
