Members of So. African Parliament, Top Government Leaders Mark Israel Anniversary

Members of Parliament, leaders of the diplomatic corps stationed in Capstown and high government officials participated in a reception tendered by the Israel Consulate in honor of the second anniversary of the establishment of the state of Israel.

At the same time 10,000 Jews here attended a mass celebration at Wembley Stadium. Two thousand youths affiliated with Zionist youth groups paraded in the Stadium. Mayor Jack Mincer of this city, who is Jewish, greeted the celebrants. Numerous similar gatherings were arranged throughout the Union.
