Memorial Foundation Gives $132,000 to 132 Scholars for Jewish Studies

Scholarships and fellowships totalling $132,000 have been granted by the Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture for the 1969-70 academic year to 132 students and scholars working in a variety of fields in 10 countries, it was announced today by Dr. Nahum Goldmann, president of the Foundation. The awards are distributed for Jewish study, research and creative work. Of the 132 recipients, 70 are doctoral students preparing for careers in various fields of Jewish scholarship and 62 are independent scholars, research workers and writers. Their countries include Israel, Britain, France and the United States.
