Prime Minister Levi Eshkol and other Government and Mapai party leaders took part here today in a memorial meeting for Louis Segal, the late general secretary of the Farband Labor Zionist Organization, who died last week in New York.
Moshe Sharett, chairman of the Jewish Agency executive, who delivered the eulogy, said Mr. Segal “had a special place in our movement for a whole generation. He had a wonderful mixture of the old and the new and brought a new generation to Zionism in the United States, All who knew him loved him because he was a true friend.” Shrage Netzer, acting secretary of Mapai, said that the party would “erect a living monument” in Mr. Segal’s name.
