A memorial meeting for Dr. Joseph Klausner, Jewish historian, author, communal leader and veteran Zionist, who died in Jerusalem Monday, was held here last night at the headquarters of the United Zionists-Revisionists of America.
A statement by the Revisionist executive declared: “We mourn the loss of one of the giants of Jewish history, whose life work contributed so much to the rebirth of the Jewish nation and its cultural renaissance.”
Dr. Emanuel Neumann, president of the World Confederation of General Zionists, said of Prof. Klausner: “A great Jewish patriot has departed, but the influence of his thought and work will endure for generations to come.”
Other statements of sorrow were issued by Abraham Redelheim, newly-elected president of the Zionist Organization of America, and Dr. Samuel Blumenfield, director of the Jewish Agency’s department of education and culture.
