A bequest of $10,000 to the Federation of Jewish Charities was made in the will of the late Charles Gimbel, Jewish merchant and philanthropist, which was filed for probate yesterday.
The bequest stipulates that memorial services be held annually at the Jewish Foster Home and Orphans Asylum on the anniversary of his death and that of his parents.
The estate of Mr. Gimbel is of undetermined value. In addition to this bequest, provision is made for domestics in his employ for more than three year. Those who were employed from three to five years receive $300 each, while those employed for five years or more receive $1,000 each.
Memorial services for Mr. Gimbel, who died on September 9th at his Lake Placid summer home, will be held next Monday under the auspices of the Federation of Jewish Charities. Rabbi William H. Fineshriber of Keneseth Israel Temple, will deliver the eulogy.
