The establishment of a community trust fund, the erection of a bust, and Yahrzeit services were decided upon as memorials to the late Harry H. Lapidus, outstanding civic, communal and philanthropic leader, who was killed last December.
The bust will be placed in the Omaha Jewish Community Center, which Mr. Lapidus helped found and which he served as first president.
The trust fund will be used as a means of aiding and maintaining worthy charitable activities in which Mr. Lapidus was interested. The purposes of the fund will be flexible to meet changing conditions.
Community-wide memorial services will be held at the Jewish Community Center on the Jewish Yahrzeit of his death, January 9, 1933.
Plans for these memorials were developed by a memorial committee consisting of representatives of all the Jewish organizations in Omaha.
