Mexico and Israel Sign Pact Establishing Diplomatic Relations

The Governments of Israel and Mexico will soon exchange envoys under the terms of an agreement signed here establishing diplomatic relations between the two nations. The envoys will bear the title of Minister.

Signing of the pact was celebrated at the home of Dr. Adolfo Fastlicht, Israeli counsel, with a reception attended by representatives of the Jewish community, and Dr. Moshe Tov, Israeli Minister to Latin American countries. The Jewish Central Committee and the Zionist Organization of Mexico, in telegrams to President Miguel Aleman and Foreign Minister Manuel Tello, hailed the pact, expressing their gratitude and appreciation to the Mexican Government.
