Meyer Nissim, a former mayor of Bombay and a prominent bank official who was active in Jewish communal affairs, died here today at the age of 77.
Born in this city, Mr. Nissim served at various times as chairman of the Central Jewish Board of Bombay, president of the Jewish Relief Association and treasurer of the United Israel Appeal. In 1958 he was invited by Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion to come to Israel for the country’s tenth anniversaries celebration.
