In an address delivered before the Board of Deputies of British Jews of which he is president, Neville Laski declared that the Board of Deputies would soon witness the establishment of a migration committee together with High Commissioner James G. McDonald of the refugee body. The committee will operate under supervision of the League of Nations.
The task of the High Commissioner is not only one of coordination, but also one of making effective effort in the interest of the refugees, the Anglo-Jewish leader stated. Although cooperating with the Jewish Agency for Palestine, the High Commissioner is not specifically concerned with Palestine. Dr. Chaim Weizmann, head of the Zionist campaign to settle German refugees in Palestine, and High Commissioner McDonald are cooperating to the fullest exent, Mr. Laski pointed out. He added that Palestine is always uppermost in the minds of those concerned with the refugee problem.
