Plans to settle 50,000 Jews in Australia in the near future will be discussed at the first international conference here of Freiland, Jewish organization to promote colonization, scheduled for March 10 to 16.
Delegates from America, England, France, Holland and Poland (where the organization was recently legalized) are expected to attend. Among the delegates will be Leopold Kessler, leader of the expedition sent by Dr. Theodor Herzl, founder of political Zionism, to the Sinai Peninsula to investigate Jewish settlement possibilities.
It was recalled here that the first conference of the Jewish Territorialist Organization was held in Vienna 25 years ago under the chairmanship of Israel Zangwill, famous novelist.
