Milan now has a “Garden of the Righteous” honoring people who performed acts of courage or compassion in extreme circumstances. Modeled on the Forest of the Righteous among Nations at the Jerusalem-based Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial, the Milan garden will have trees planted to honor ordinary people who sought to save human lives in the face of atrocities, persecution and genocide.
