A movement for a youth conference to foster religious tolerance received endorsement from sixty Jewish and Christian leaders at a brotherhood rally sponsored by the local committee of the National Council of Jews and Christians.
Mrs. Samuel Eder, 39, prominent Jewish charity worker, died here following an operation. She was president of the Conference of Jewish Women’s Organizations, member of the board of the Jewish Women’s Council and a director of numerous Jewish philanthropic organizations.
Aaron Scheinfeld was elected president of the Federated Jewish Charities at the annual meeting. Other officers elected included Mrs. Sig Ruscha, secretary, and Leonard Goldstein, treasurer.
