Addressed to the large German population of this city, the Milwaukee Leader editorially points out that the German people are beginning to realize “that they have been gypped in the worst sort of way by the Nazis.”
“They have been gypped into giving up their new republic, exchanging it for an iron despotism on the promise that this would give them prosperity, jobs and a new culture,” the Leader declared.
“It has not given them any of these. Their standard of living has been lowered. And the new culture is both a joke and a tragedy.”
