A Ministerial commission was scheduled today to hold hearings here in an effort to work out a solution of the conflict between ultra-Orthodox elements and Laborites over a youth club situated on the edge of the Mea Shearim quarter of this city where many Orthodox Jewish families live.
Ultra-Orthodox elements have been demanding that the club be moved out of the district, charging that the sports activities at the club are an influence for evil as far as their children are concerned. The Laborites have offered to build a fence to block the view into the club playground from the Mea Shearim quarter, but this proposal has not satisfied the religious group.
