The Absorption Ministry announced today that it has stopped the allowances of 200 foreign students, most of them Americans, all of whom own cars. Further stoppages of allowances are expected. The action was taken following an investigation into the living conditions of the foreign students. The Ministry is currently granting allowances of between $21-$103 to some 6,000 foreign students. Ministry officials believe that any student who owns a car does not deserve to receive financial aid from public funds, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency was told.
