How the Chief Rabbi of Palestine, Dr. Isaac Herzog almost miraculously escaped possible death by sinking on the ill fated Robin Moor, torpedoed by the Germans, was related in the Palestine newspaper Haarets in connection with his expected arrival here today.
According to the story in the Palestine newspaper, the Chief Rabbi was scheduled to sail from the United States aboard the Robin Moor and tickets on that ship for the Rabbi and his wife had already been purchased. At the last moment, however, he postponed his departure and later changed to a steamer which was destined to pick up the passengers rescued from the Robin Moor and bring them to South Africa.
