A call to the Catholic churches to hold services for the conversion of the Jews was issued by the sacradotal association, Amici Israel. The services are to be held the first Friday of every month.
Robert M. Bernstein, attorney and communal worker of Philadelphia, was elected Chairman of the United Palestine Appeal Board of Directors of Philadelphia Wednesday night at the annual meeting of the Board. Mr. Bernstein succeeds B. T. Miller, who was Chairman since 1921.
The late Jules E. Mastbaum will be inscribed in the Golden Book, according to a decision of the Board. Since 1921 Philadelphia has raised one million dollars for Palestine and subscribers increased from one thousand to fifteen thousand. Other officers elected were B. F. Miller, Honorary Chairman; Jacob Edelstein and Sol C. Krauss, Vice Chairman; I. Rothman, Treasurer and Rabbi Max D. Klein, Secretary.
