“If the Ku Klux Klan wins again in Oklahoma this year, the masked parades, the midnight whipping parties and the business boycotts no doubt will continue,” says an election circular issued by ex-Governor Walton of Oklahoma in his campaign for re-election.

The circular contains photographs of a mutilated Jew and a Catholic who were flogged and branded by the Klan.

“Former Governor Walton, running on an anti-Klan platform, sacrificed the highest office in this State because of his fight upon this organization. Two Oklahoma oil millionaires are seeking, through aid of the Klan, to defeat the former Governor in the race for the Senate.

“Let’s put men in office who stand four square and unfaltering against the invisible empire.”
