Public meetings in protest against the violation of the Pentacost by some of the residents of Jewish colonies on land that is the property of the Jewish National Fund, were held in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem during the last few days. The meetings were under the auspices of the Mizrachi Orthodox Zionist Organization, and were addressed by Rabbi A. J. Kook, Chief Rabbi of Palestine for the Askenazic community, Rabbi Jacob Meir, Chief Rabbi of Palestine for the Sephardic community, Rabbi M. S. Margolis, honorary president of the Union of Orthodox Rabbis in the United States and Canada who is on a visit here, and Rabbi Meyer Berlin, head of the Mizrachi Organization.
Rabbi Berlin charged that violation of the Pentacost occurred in the colonies En Charod, K’far Ezekiel and in Balfouria, the colony established by the American Zion Commonwealth.
Rabbi Berlin and Mr. Struck, in their addresses, urged the administration of the Jewish National Fund to see to it that violation of Jewish holidays be prevented in colonies located on the land belonging to the Fund. The letters of the Mizrachi threatened withdrawal from directorship of the Fund if such action is not taken.
