A unanimous vote of confidence and appreciation for the work done during the past year was given to the leadership of the Mizrachi, Orthodox Zionist Organization, at its international conference in session here, following a debate of several days on the report of the administration.
Prior to the vote Rabbi Meyer Berlin, president of the organization, answered in detail the criticism of many delegates declaring that the Jerusalem headquarters had to carry on its work under difficult conditions, not haing received sufficient assistance and cooperation on the part of the federations in the various countries.
At the budget committee, which was in session all day yesterday, under the chairmanship of Rabbi Aaron Teitlebaum of New York, the executive submitted a proposal for next year’s budget, calling for the amount of £70,000 ($350,000). The major items are for religious work and the needs of the school system, aggregating £55,000.
A proposal was also submitted for the creation of a special directorate of the Keren Eretz Israel, the Palestine Fund of the Mizrachi organization, along the lines of the Keren Hayesod administration.
