More than 600 guests attended a banquet and Palestinian evening under the auspices of the Mizrachi Organization in the grand ball room of the Hotel Edison last night. Proceeds were turned over to the Mizrachi Palestine Fund.
Included among the speakers were Rabbi Wolf Gold, president of the Mizrachi; Dr. Bernard Hausner, former Polish consul at Tel Aviv; Morris Asinof, chairman of the banquet committee; Gedaliah Bublick, Jewish journalist, and Rabbi Jacob Levenson. Harris L. Selig, director of the Mizrachi campaign, was toast master. Borough President Samuel Levy of Manhattan was also present.
Governor Herbert H. Lehman sent a message of regret at his inability to attend the banquet and lauded the ideals of the Mizrachi.
