Mizrachi to Establish Orthodox Colony in Palestine

Adopting a resolution to found a colony in Palestine for orthodox laborers and middle class Jews, the Mizrachi Organization of America closed its twenty-fifth annual convention last night at the Jewish Community House.

Another resolution pledged the support of the organization to the battle of world Jewry against immigration restrictions in Palestine. Leon Gellman was re-elected president.

Rabbi Meyer Berlin, honorary World President of Mizrachi, spoke of the economic development of Palestine and need for united front of all Jews against the proposed encroachment on their rights in Palestine.

The delegates visited the Arlington Cemetery and placed a wreath on the tomb of the unknown soldier.

The women’s Mizrachi closed its session with election of officers. Mrs. Abraham Shapiro was reelected president and Mrs. Adela Goldstein honorary president. Resolutions for building training schools and cultural centers for orthodox girls and creation of a junior womens Mizrachi organization were adopted.
