The members of the Mizrachi Women’s Organization have purchased $250,000 worth of war bonds and will buy an additional quarter of a million dollars’ worth, it was announced today at the organization’s "Victory Luncheon" in the Hotel Astor here.
The luncheon was addressed by Jan Masaryk, Foreign Minister of the Czech Government-in-Exile who declared that "the next six months may decide the future of the human race." Rabbi Samuel Brodt, former chief rabbi of Antwerp, also spoke, urging that Jews have "a voice at the peace table in the task of reconstruction." Proceeds from the luncheon, which were estimated at about $25,000, will be used to support the homes, schools and training centers that the Mizrachi Women maintain in Palestine.
