Leon Gellman, national president of the Mizrachi Organization, declared here yesterday before boarding a plane for Israel, that the World Mizrachi Organization will maintain its headquarters in Jerusalem, regardless of the future political disposition of the city. The Mizrachi leader will attend the special session of the Zionist Actions Committee in Tel Aviv which opens on Thursday.
Asserting that “no matter what political status the U.N. accords Jerusalem,” Gellman said that “Jerusalem will forever remain the heart of Israel. For nearly half a century, the World Mizrachi movement has made Jerusalem the center of its religious, cultural and colonization activities. We hare no intention of moving our world offices to any other city in Israel. Moreover, our movement will continue to build the Holy City and will support all Jewish enterprises which will guarantee a stable, secure and fruitful future for the 100,000 Jews now in Jerusalem,” he added.
