Two models of a completely prefabricated synagogue and community center, developed by the United States Steel Homes, Inc., and the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, were put on display here today. The buildings were designed by David Moed, New York architect.
A complete, pre-fabricated synagogue center will be sponsored by the Union’s community activities division, including the structure, construction, financing and furnishing. It is described as specially designed to meet the needs resulting from swelling numbers of young families settling in the suburbs. Along with the synagogues, a school building is now being completed which can be attached to the center or stand as a separate structure. The center, including construction, ready for occupancy, will cost about thirty-two thousand dollars.
