Modification of the compulsory Sunday Rest Law, bringing with it relief for the Jewish workers in Lithuania was seen in a statement to the press by Premier Waldemaras.
The Episcopate has agreed that a number of religious holidays falling in the middle of the week shall be transferred to Sunday, Waldemaras announced.
It is also expected that Jewish workshops where the work is not of a noisy nature will be permitted to keep open on Sundays.
Any transfer of the date of Easter is opposed by the Episcopate, the Premier stated.
