Sir Alfred Mond has accepted the invitation of Morris Rottenberg who is returning from Europe on the same steamer to address the conference of Zionist and Keren Hayesod workers to be held Sunday, September 23 at the Hotel Astor. Sir Alfred declares that his visit to the United States is purely a business one, but he agreed to address this gathering and the reception in his honor at Greystone, the home of Samuel Untermyer.
It is said that one of the purposes of Sir Alfred’s visit here is to confer with Louis Marshall in connection with the “investment bank” projected by a group of American Jews during the last visit of Dr. Weizmann in America.
Jacob Landau, director of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, is returning on the Berengaria after a five months visit abroad in connection with plans for the expansion of the only Jewish news service. Mr. Landau toured virtually all capitals of central and eastern Europe, besides paying a brief visit to Russia.
