The Montefiore Hospital for Chronic Diseases, located in the Bronx, had a deficit of $44,857.67 during the year 1929, according to the annual report of the hospital which was made public this week. Among the gifts and endowments which the hospital received during the past year was $100,000 from the Fanny Rothschild Mack Foundation. The hospital, which houses more than 1,500 patients and employes, is now completing a program of modernization.
