Mordechai Braverman, one of the defenders of Tel Chai in the Galilee, alongside the legendary Yoseph Trumpeldor, died here Tuesday at the age of 86. Braverman arrived in Palestine in 1917 as a member of the American battalion of the Jewish Legion which had fought together with the British army against the Turks in Palestine during World War I. After the war, Braverman was a founder of the Beer Tuvia settlement. He joined the Hashomer in the pre-Hagana days and was a member of Mapam his entire adult life.
