Reba Monness, United States table tennis champion, today accepted an invitation to represent this country in the third world Maccabiah games in Israel, beginning Sept. 27 and ending Oct. 8. It was also announced that S. William Omeltchenko, City College half-miler and miler, accepted an invitation to the games.
Henry Modell of New York, and William Nordwind of Chicago, have been named cochairmen of the Athletic Equipment Committee for the 1950 Maccabiah, it was announced here. They will aid in providing equipment for the games which will feature athletes from 32 nations, including the U.S. Approximately 50 American athletes, certified by the National Jewish Welfare Board, are expected to be represented in the Maccabiah.
