The Palestine Government has under consideration a plan to increase the number of Britons on High Commissioner Sir Arthur Wauchope’s staff, it was announced by Colonial Secretary William Ormsby-Gore in the House of Commons today.
The new appointees would advise the local governments in Palestine, under jurisdiction of the High Commissioner, it was explained.
No steps will be taken in that direction however, until the Royal Commission has submitted the report on its Palestine investigation, Mr. Ormsby-Gore said.
The Colonial Secretary announced he has asked for a report on the Arab cattle raid near Nazareth last week, in which two Jewish shepherds were slain.
