Ex-Deputy Farbstein, member of the Jewish Agency Executive, is negotiating with Mr. Albert M. Hyamson, the Director of Immigration to the Palestine Government, with a view to obtaining visa facilities for manufacturers possessed of expert knowledge of their trades, arguing that this is as important for success as the possession of money.
Mr. Hyamson visited Tel Aviv yesterday with Mr. Farbstein and inspected with him eleven factories there, which all started with little or no funds and are now prospering, because their owners are men with special skilled knowledge of their trades. Mr. Hyamson is stated to have been deeply impressed by this evidence in support of Mr. Farbstein’s claim, and some hope is expressed that the Immigration Department may, in consequence, adopt a less rigorous attitude in the matter of middle-class immigration.
