Isaac Abbou, former president of the Rabat Jewish Community and a leading Moroccan Jewish personality, died here suddenly at the age of 75.
He had also served as the president of the Jewish Community of Casablanca and of the Council of Jewish Communities of Morocco. He had been a municipal councilman in Rabat and secretary of the Rabat Chamber of Commerce. He also was a vice-president of the Federation of General Zionists and a delegate to the 23rd World Zionist Congress in Jerusalem in 1951.
The Grand Rabbi of Casablanca and David Amar, secretary of the Council of Jewish Communities of Morocco delivered eulogies at the funeral.
