Representations to the French authorities for the preservation of the ancient Jewish cemetery in Fonts near Agadit, were made by leaders of the Jewish community here.
During the conservation of a road. French troops have cut through the cemetery. Many tombstones were demolished. The leaders of the Jewish community pouted out that the grave of Rabbi Khalifa Malca is located in the cemetery and thousands of pilgrims visit it annually. They pleaded that the demolition of the tomb be prevented.
On January 28th, (###), the Hebrew Union College School for Teachers in New York City will move to its permanence quarters in the new Community Conner of Congregation Et at 1 East (###)th Street. The classrooms and offices of the School will occupy three of the eight floors in the new and beautiful structure completed by the Congregation.
Registration of new students for the Spring Semester will begin on January 28th at the School’s new quarters. The entering class will be limited to fifty students.
The School offers an intensive course of study of two year’s duration leading to a certificate qualifying the holder in reach in the Jewish religious schools.
Louis Wiley and (###) Marx of New York City gave $(###),000 each to the Endowment Fund being cruised the Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati Dr. Julian Morgenstern, President announced. Adotch Outs is chairman of the $(###)000 Endowment Fund campaign.Mr. Wiley, business manager of the “New York Times,” made this gist in addition to $1,000 which he recently gave the college.
Alfred M. Cohen, former Senator of Ohio, who is Chairman of the Board of Governors, gave $(###),000 to the fund, and Alfred Mack also of Cincinnati, gave $(###),000.
