The Jewish inhabitants of Agadir, Morocco, were among the thousands of casualties of the earthquakes, tidal wave, and fires that struck yesterday. Press associations reported the Jewish quarter, along the lower seacoast, was struck by the catastrophe along with the adjacent Moslem native quarter.
No estimate was available as to the number of Jews who suffered in the catastrophe but it was known that some Jews were among the victims. The Jewish quarter is adjacent to the Moslem quarter in the hard hit section of Agadir.
