A weekly publication devoted to the interests of the Jewish population of Morocco was under threat of being banned today after its director, Victor Malka, was interrogated at length by Moroccan police.
The questioning of the director of “Trait D’Union,” the first issue of which appeared in November, and the threat of a ban took place despite the fact that permission had been given to him by the authorities to issue the publication. The weekly was launched with the approval of some Moroccan Jewish personalities.
Mean while, it appeared that efforts of the Council of Jewish Communities in Morocco to obtain the re-appearance of another publication, “The Voice of the Communities,” were certain to fail.
