Soviet propaganda against Israel continues unabated, especially in Arab-language broadcasts beamed from Moscow to Arab countries. A broadcast today said that “American diplomats do not spare any efforts to encourage new acts of provocation by Israel against Egypt, among which is the decision of the Israel Government to send a test ship through the Suez Canal to ascertain the reaction of the Egyptian Government.”

Radio Moscow warned that “this would be a provocative step shrouded with grave dangers and might lead to a new armed conflict. This is exactly what the authors of the Eisenhower Doctrine in Washington are after because they see in it a good opportunity to send American armed forces to the Arab country.”

A broadcast from Arab Jerusalem today said Jordan’s “defined policy” is to “redeem our usurped land” by recapturing territory occupied by Israel. An allegation was made that there were common bonds linking Communism and Zionism.
