Moshe Katsav became first Israeli president to visit Greece. Katsav expressed a wish for stronger Greek-Israeli ties, noting that “the more contacts, the less the misunderstandings.” Greece has been bothered by Israel’s ties with Turkey, while Israel often has been upset by Greece’s strongly pro-Palestinian positions.
