The group within the Mizrachi Laborite party led by Moshe Shapiro, Israel’s Minister of Interior, received 40 percent of the votes in the elections to the 11th national convention of the party, it was announced today. More than 70 percent of the entire membership voted in the elections.
The Leftist Lamifneh group received 33 percent of the votes, while the group led by Itzhak Rafael, head of the immigration department of the Jewish Agency, received 23 percent. The remainder went to the group Hazon Vehagshama.
