Lord Rothermere’s London Daily Mail, chief defender of Sir Oswald Mosley and his black-shirted Fascists, today published a fulsome panegyric on the achievements of the Jewish people.
The success of the film depicting the rise of the house of Rothschild, an American film, is proof of the fact that there is no anti-Semitism in England, the Daily Mail declared. If anti-Semitism had ever been a force in England, the career of the great Disraeli would have been impossible, the Daily Mail said.
In view of the fact that Sir Oswald and his group have been repeatedly accused of being anti-Semitic, the Daily Mail article would appear to be an attempt to win the sympathy of British Jews.
