Sir Oswald Mosley’s “racket of anti-Semitism” was ridiculed tonight by Noville Laski, president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, addressing a mixed audience at Municipal Hall. He said that “England loathes Mosley’s campaign of lies and believes that truth will prevail.”
Mr. Laski announced he would shortly lead a deputation to present an address to King George “not as Jews but as citizens of the Hebrew faith, like the Archbishop of Canterbury presents a-similar address from those of the Protestant faith.”
The Jews came to England by Gromwell’s invitation 300 years ago, Mr. Laski said, and gave England Benjamin Disraeli, Lord Reading, Sir Herbert Samuel and Sir John Monash.
