Army and police forces have combed dozens of mosques in the Gaza Strip during the past three days in the hope of locating Sgt. Avi Sasportas, who disappeared without a trace a month ago.
The mosque search operation, which has not yet yielded any results, was launched after authorities received intelligence information that either the soldier or his body was being held captive in the basement of one of the mosques.
