Motel Grubian, a Yiddish poet associated with the anti-Zionist Soviet journal Sovietish Heimland, died last week in Moscow at the age of 63, according to Jewish sources. Mr. Grubian was the author of several volumes of verse, the most recent being "The Restless Wind." In Dec. 1960, at ceremonies commemorating the 65th birthday of Peretz Markish, the Yiddish poet killed in the Stalin purge of 1952, Mr. Grubian read Yiddish poems dedicated to Markish. The January issue of Sovietish Heimland contains a cycle of poems by Mr. Grubian. His last verse says: "I will not grow any more upwards, nor will I spread sideways; but I pray to God for strength to carry my own burden to the last."
